Nottadog is half Maine Coon, and half Barn Cat. His thirst for adventure amazes.

He loves car rides and hikes at his choosing.

Summer, 2023, when Notta was closing in on a year old, we started practicing to Kayak.

A sprinkle of cat nip and bribes of treats helps him feel comfortable.
On dry land, I rocked the kayak back and forth
Make sure you have a proper fitting flotation vest. I had him wear it a bit before hitting the boat.

Our first trip onto water, we picked a pond close to home, just in case we got dunked.

So much to see.

A frog or a fish.
Kayaking can be exhausting.

Our short initiation was much longer as we waited for two hikers with dogs to head home.

A new kayaking companion for me.

Our next trip brought us out with friends to a larger lake.

We were out a long time, and he seemed to be enjoying himself.

When we got too close to shore exploring tributaries, he wanted to hunt in the thickets. We aren’t ready to kayak streams yet. Further adventures for 2024.
